Have you ever had a moment when Scripture grabs you and cuts straight to the heart?

Yesterday in the daily readings Mark 5:21-43, brought back memories of such a moment. One summer I had taken youth to a conference. At the conference there was a breakout prayer session for the adults and youth minister.

I was in my seat had my eyes closed and listened to them read Mark 5:21-43. The hemorrhaging woman reminded me of myself.

I was in Bible study, went to church and prayed everyday and yet I held tight to all of my disappointments and hurts.

I had never given it a thought that I was trying to heal myself and just like the hemorrhaging woman I couldn't heal myself. So at that very moment I gave all of it to our Lord and touched the hem of His garment as He went by. He stopped, turned around and knelt down and lifted up my face to wipe away my tears and said, "You are my beloved, and I am well pleased. You are healed."

Why are we so independent?

You can let your guard down with Jesus and be healed. Stop holding on and trying to control everything. You too can go to Him and touch His hem and be healed.
