Hey Mister, Have You Seen This Little Girl's Hands?

A little girl went to school each day.

When she came home from the day.

She would sit with her mama and discuss what may.

Hey Mister, have you seen this little girl’s hands?

Mama had called it a tea time event.

The little girl had not known any different.

Her mama listened to the little girl talk on how her day went.

At times there were tears and other times laughter of the day to day events.

Hey Mister, have you seen this little girl’s hands?

There were days the little girl had been picked on.

And other days she played with someone’s daughter or son.

Her mama encouraged her on the days she was sad.

“Honey, you may have to work with someone just like the one who made you feel bad.”

Hey Mister, have you seen this little girl’s hands?

This little girl worked hard and graduated high in her class.

She went off to college, never partying, always studying so she could pass.

She graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors in her class.

Hey Mister, have you seen this little girl’s hands?

This little girl is now a lady and works hard to inspire students.

She juggles it all with the extras of walk thru’s, parents and events.

The lady who had done everything to her very best.

A little encouragement from you would of served her the best.

If only she could have passed your test.

Hey Mister, have you seen this lady’s hands?

Mister, if you saw this lady’s hands.

You would see how she hardly has any nails.

Why you may ask? It is due to the stress of this life.

You were the one we tried to prepare her for with the earlier strife.

If you would have only looked at her hands.

The next time the lady’s mama has her for tea.

She will hold her daughters hands you see.

And rub her daughter’s tired hands.

Once again, tell her to do the best that she can.

And hopefully someday this lady will not have to chew on your hands.
