My Soul Sisters in Christ!

As I was looking back this morning, I come to realize how blessed I have been on this journey with Christ! Jesus has put the right people in my path every step of the way! Praise you Lord!

Have you ever had one of those moments when you thought I think I need to pull out all the stops? You know the times when you have prayed for something or someone, and the circumstances look as if nothing has changed? I was feeling one of those moments. I do realize without the tiniest shadow of doubt, that God heard my prayers and that things are changing in the situation even if I can’t see it. However, I just was in need of some reassurance. The kind of reassurance only my soul sisters could give me. In the photo above are two special friends that I would count as my soul sisters. We attend Bible studies, conferences, eat, pray and laugh together. These women are in the area my family and I are currently living. However, I can say this is not all of them. I wish I had more room to put all their beautiful faces on this page! I am super blessed for all the soul sisters that are literally all over the US. These marvelous Christ-like women are an important part of my pilgrimage here on earth.

As I make my earthly journey, my heart is so thankful with the grace that God has poured out for me. He has blessed me with so many amazing Christ centered women! With today’s technology I can have instant contact via social media avenue; Facebook, Twitter, Snap Chat, texting, and even the old-fashioned ways of email or talking to them on the phone.

To highlight my point about what is so special of having soul sisters. Today a circle of soul sisters gathered together for a surprise 40th birthday party for one of our sisters who had not celebrated her birthday. To her it was just another day. However by the smiles and laughter that went on during the celebration, I can honestly say our soul sister knows we love her and we are with her on her pilgrimage as well. It is not just another day! Life is hard and it is especially hard to do it by ourselves. Let’s face it – we need others! We cannot do this world without the help of others. I know I certainly do not want to. A little encouragement from my soul sisters helps me to stay on track as I journey towards our heavenly home. They help me want to become better and to keep me on the path to holiness.

What makes a soul sister in Christ so important to our heavenly journey? What makes these sisters different from others? Soul sisters will laugh with you, cry with you, and most importantly they will pray with you and for you. You can count on them. For an example, when you send them a text, they will stop everything and offer up a prayer and respond back to you as quickly as possible with encouragement or a Scripture verse. Soul sisters hold us accountable; build us up; and in every way point us to Christ.

So today give thanks to God the Father, for giving us some soul sisters to join us along the way of our pilgrimage. Make a point to take the time to thank your soul sisters for being there for you. By doing so, you will be encouraging them also. You never know, they may have needed a dose of some encouragement from you today as well.

1 Peter 3:8 “Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly (sisterly) love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.”
