Should I Worry?

Many times worry is the natural responses in my life! You name it I can worry about it. That is until the moment I learned where worry comes from.

Worry represents the unknown and lack of control. Worry comes from fear. The acronym of FEAR is False Evidence Appearing Real. The numerous times in my life where time was wasted in worrying about things that were out of my hands. In the end most of the things I wasted time and energy worrying about never came to fruition.

Then one day I heard the message, “Do you know where fear, anxiety, doubt, and worry come from?” Answer: “Satan.” Once, I heard that, I was mad! It was time that I took the worry thing into control once and for all.

The best weapon for fear, anxiety, doubt and worry is to pray and memorize Scripture. There is scripture for every type of worry a person may consider.

One of the most common worries I deal with is our daughters when they are driving. When I catch myself worrying, then I stop and say Scripture out loud.

Here are some great Scriptures to put on an index card to have ready to recite the next time one finds themselves in worry mode.

  • “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13
  • “For You O Lord are my Hope… my trust is in You.” Psalm 146:5
  • “I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
